Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is excited its signature youth enrichment program, ASCEND, designed to motivate, engage and assist high school students in reaching their maximum potential. Students will have an opportunity to receive academic enrichment and life skills training to support their journey toward college or vocational employment.
The Delta Beta Omega Chapter is now accepting applications for the 2017-20178 academic season. There is a $50.00 application fee per student and current transcripts will be required upon acceptance into the ASCEND program. Approximately 40 high school male and/or female students will be accepted into the program.
Program Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must submit current transcripts upon acceptance.
Applicants must be enrolled in High school (9-12 grades) Male or Female.
Applicants must have a GPA of 2.0 and higher.
Applicants must have reliable mode of transportation and ability to attend monthly meetings on the fourth Saturday, 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. (September 2017 - May 2018).
Applicants must have 1 recommendation from a teacher or community leader (pastor, business owner, head of community-based organization, club sponsor, coach, volunteer organization or mentor) No recommendations from relatives.
Selected Applicants must follow all PUHSD rules, policies, and procedures when meeting on one of its campuses.
Applicants must have Principal/Site Administrator's Approval & Signature.
Applicants must include their Student Identification Number on the Application.
